Following our success with Macbeth at the Swan in October, Tight Fit Theatre joins with the community to produce its fifth annual pantomime at the Beacon Theatre. This year's show may seem at first glance to be a departure from our policy of producing traditional pantomimes but the title shouldn't be allowed to mislead you.

Ally Hill was inspired by the original Buster Crabbe short films and the more recent movie for the story-line but the traditional Panto elements will not go amiss. Audiences will discover that Professor Zarkov is the Dame (played by Mark Oldknow) and Emperor Ming's henchmen Bitmap and Browzer (played by Tony and Helen Sendall) are traditional pantomime characters we all know and love.

Ally Hill said "We discussed doing something different for the millennium year that was futuristic but could contain all the necessary panto elements. Flash Gordon seemed the ideal storyline; it could have been written with panto in mind and adapted relatively easily to the traditional format."

Audience participation will be to the fore ("Oh, yes it will!") and we promise a great time will be had by children of all ages.

Tickets are available from the Box Office 01494 677764.
